The Lights!
In honor of our lecture on the history of lighting, I made my friends stop at the Urban Lights at LACMA on our Halloween destination. I had never visited before but there was something very magical about the way those lights looked in the middle of a beautiful, rainy night. These are a bunch of restored 1920s and 1930s street lamps! Granted, we were very wasted by then, but it was definitely worth it. I've been thinking about angles and recreating emotion through light since our past discussion in class. In this case, we have a very brightly light street- the lighting source coming from the sides (S.R. & S.L.) and a back angle. I'd totally be looking to recreate a feeling of joy and high energy! Definitely one for the books! (Can we use this somewhere in our Lamp Book ?!)
