A cozy, old home

 This past weekend I got to celebrate my friend's birthday, which was held at her house in Philips Ranch. Her home is one of my favorite places because of its history. It was built in during the Prohibition Era, nooks and crannies in so many different areas of the house. As I took photos of the house, I noticed how well lit everything was; recessed lighting in the ceilings, on the shelves in the walls, inside the cabinets. The detail of the lighting in this house served to be very functional. However, they were also used to accentuate decorations or little areas of the home. Another aspect of the home that I really enjoyed was that it felt very antique-like. I am really drawn to this old time kind of aesthetic, which primarily involves the uses of warm light, incandescents, candles, etc. This home had plenty of that. There were candles lit everywhere around the house. I wish that I was able to capture more photos of how beautiful the home is. However, I felt that I may have been invading on some of their privacy. Hahah
